Believe it or not, but turns out the colour pink wasn't even recognised until the 17th century, when it was used to describe the pale red flowering plants of the genus Dianthus (Wikipedia says here)... But so what? That hasn't prevented this most fabulous of colours from achieving a wide range of associations - are you ready? Then let's get started...
